Using Analysis Codes

One of the key decisions to make when setting up a chart of accounts is to decide if and how to use Analysis Codes. Analysis Codes identify specific segments of your business, such as departments, divisions, or profit centers, which is extremely useful for maintaining responsibility accounting information. If you decide to use Analysis Codes in ERPro, define their format and information on General Ledger Setup in the System Manager module and Company Setup.

You must define a range of acceptable values for each Analysis Code and use these values when entering Analysis Codes during regular ERPro operations. For each Analysis Code entered, ERPro checks the entries against the acceptable values for each Analysis Code. Except when the "Post Project Code to GL Voucher As Analysis Code 1" is turned on, it this case, the acceptable values for Analysis Code 1 is Project Code.
